This guide explains how to automatically send your emails to a different address using the new Outlook app on Windows 11.

The new Outlook for Windows makes managing your email easier. It works with Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Hotmail, and Gmail accounts.

The app includes many helpful tools like email signatures, external email accounts, out-of-office automatic replies, email sorting, and subscription management.

Why forward your email?

You might want to send your messages to a different account to keep all your mail in one place. It is also useful if you are going on vacation and want a family member or coworker to handle your messages while you are away.

What happens when done?

Once you finish these steps, every new email you receive will be sent automatically to the address you chose. You can also choose to keep a copy of the original email in your current inbox.

How to set up email forwarding

First, open the new Outlook app on your computer. You can find it by clicking the Start button or searching for “Outlook” in the search box.

When the app opens, click the Settings button. This looks like a gear icon in the top right corner.

Inside the Settings menu, click the Mail tab on the left side. Then, click Forwarding on the right.

If you have more than one email account, choose the specific account you want to change. You will need to repeat these steps for each account you want to forward.

Type in the email address where you want your messages to go. You can also click the option to keep a copy of the forwarded mail in your current inbox.
