How to Sign In/Out of Manage Mobile Devices in Windows 11

This guide explains how to connect or disconnect your phone using the Manage Mobile Devices feature in Windows 11.

Why do this? Linking your phone lets you see texts, check notifications, and move files between your phone and computer without picking up your device.

What happens when done? Your computer will stay synced with your phone, allowing you to manage mobile tasks directly from your desktop. If you sign out, the connection is broken and your data will no longer sync.

Windows Mobile devices (or Phone Link) makes it easy to work across devices. You must be signed into your Microsoft account to use this feature.

Sign in to Mobile Devices

Follow these steps to connect your account. Note: These steps require standard user permissions.

1. Open the Windows Settings app. You can find this by clicking the Start menu and selecting Settings, or by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open Settings app.
2. Click Bluetooth & devices on the left side of the window.

3. Click the Mobile devices tile on the right.

4. Click the Manage devices button under Allow this PC to access your mobile device.

5. Click the Sign in button.

6. Enter your Microsoft account email address and follow the prompts to finish.

Once finished, you can close the window and start using your connected devices.

Sign out of Mobile Devices

If you no longer want your phone connected to your PC, you can sign out easily.

1. Go back to the Mobile devices settings screen using the steps listed above.
2. Click the Sign out link located under your account name.
