How to Fix Grayed Out Remove PIN Button in Windows 11

Sometimes when you try to remove your PIN sign-in on Windows 11, the “Remove PIN” button appears grayed out. You can’t click it. This guide will help you fix that so you can remove the PIN if you want.

Windows 11 uses a feature called Windows Hello. It makes signing into your computer safer and easier. You can sign in using a PIN, your face, or your fingerprint.

Using a PIN is safer than a password. It only works on your device. If you want, you can switch back to using your password. You do this by removing the PIN. But if the “Remove PIN” button is grayed out, follow the steps below to fix it.

How to Fix the Grayed Out Remove PIN Button

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Open Settings on Your Windows 11 PC

Click the Start menu. It’s the Windows icon at the bottom left. Then click the Settings gear icon.

Or press Windows key + I on your keyboard to open Settings directly.
