Enable Hey, Copilot: Hands-Free Voice Commands on Windows 11

Want to talk to your Windows 11 AI assistant without typing? You can! Microsoft has a cool feature called “copilot-hands-free-voice-commands-on-windows-11/" class="sal-link" rel="noopener" target="_blank" data-sal-id="9729">Hey, Copilot” that lets you control Copilot using just your voice.

What is “Hey, Copilot”?

“Hey, Copilot” is a voice command that wakes up the Copilot assistant on your PC. You can ask questions or get help without touching your keyboard or mouse.

This works starting from Copilot app version 1.25051.10.0 and later.

How to Turn On “Hey, Copilot” Voice Commands

  1. Open the Copilot app on your Windows 11 PC. If you don’t see it, press the Windows key and type Copilot. Then click the app.
  2. Sign in to Copilot if you haven’t yet. Use your Microsoft account to save your settings. Here’s how to sign in.
  3. Switch to full view mode in the Copilot app. Click your Account button. Then select Settings.
  4. Turn on voice commands. Find the Voice Mode Settings section. Toggle the switch for Listen for “Hey, Copilot” to start a conversation.
  5. Close the settings. You’re all set!
