How to Set Default From Address in Outlook for Windows
Setting the default From address in the new Outlook for Windows lets you choose which email account sends messages by default.
This is useful if you use multiple email addresses for different tasks, like one for work and another for personal use.
The new Outlook app for Windows 11, which replaced the classic Mail and Calendar apps, supports accounts like Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Hotmail, and Gmail.
By setting a default, you avoid needing to manually select your preferred sending address every time you write a new email.
Change your default sending address by going to File, then Account Settings, and selecting Account Settings again. Choose the email account you want as your default and click Set as Default.
Set default From address
As mentioned above, selecting a primary email account means you won’t have to manually choose which account to send from each time you compose a message.
You can configure your Outlook app to set the default From address. The steps below show you how to do that.
First, open the new Outlook app on Windows 11.
You can do that by clicking Start -> All app -> Outlook app. Or use the Start menu search box to search for Outlook and open it.

When the app opens, click the Settings button (gear on the top right) to proceed.

On the Settings page, click the Mail tab on the left sidebar and select Sync mail on the right.

Next, select the email address you want to set as the default From address.
