How to Enable or Disable Airplane Mode on Windows 11
This guide explains how to use Airplane mode on Windows 11.
Why use Airplane mode?
Airplane mode turns off all wireless signals on your computer. This includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is required on airplanes to stop your device from interfering with flight communication systems. It is also a great way to save battery or work without distractions.
What happens when done?
When you turn it on, your computer disconnects from the internet and wireless accessories. When you turn it off, your computer will automatically reconnect to your saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices.
Using a Physical Button
Some laptops have a dedicated physical button or switch for Airplane mode. Look for an icon that looks like a small airplane on your keyboard or the side of your device. Pressing this will toggle the mode on or off instantly.

Using the Taskbar
If your computer does not have a physical switch, you can use the taskbar.
- Look at the bottom right corner of your screen.
- Click the Network icon.
- Click the Airplane mode button to turn it on or off.

If you do not see the icon, press the Windows key + A on your keyboard to open the Quick Settings menu. You can toggle Airplane mode from there.

Using Windows Settings
You can also manage this through the main system settings.
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings. %%LNK0%%
- Click on Network & internet in the left sidebar.
- Click the Airplane mode tile.
- Use the toggle switch to turn it On or Off.

Summary
Airplane mode is a simple tool to control your wireless connections. Whether you use a physical switch, the taskbar, or the Settings menu, you can quickly stop or start your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Remember that enabling this mode will disconnect you from the internet and any wireless devices like mice or headphones. Knowing these shortcuts helps you stay in control of your device while traveling or working.
