How to sync clipboard across devices in Windows 11
Cloud Clipboard is a built-in Windows 11 feature that lets you copy text, links, and images on one PC and paste them onto another device signed in with the same account. It syncs up to 25 copied items automatically over the internet without needing extra software or email drafts.
Turn on this setting in your system settings to link your devices and start sharing your clipboard history instantly.
Open Settings System Clipboard and switch on Sync across your devices. Your copied text and images now sync automatically between all signed-in Windows devices using your Microsoft account. Press Win+V on any linked PC to view and paste items from your cloud history.
Enabling Cloud Clipboard in Windows Settings
Turning on cloud clipboard sync in Windows Settings lets you share copied text and images between all your Windows 11 PCs. You can set this up quickly through the main system menu using the built-in sync across devices feature, provided your user account has administrator privileges if your permissions are restricted.
- Open Settings by pressing the Win+I on your keyboard.

Windows 11 Start menu with Settings gear icon highlighted. - Select System from the left-hand menu, then click on Clipboard from the options on the right.

Settings › System › Clipboard - Locate the toggle switch labeled Sync across your devices and switch it to the On position.
- Choose whether you want to automatically sync text you copy or manually select items from your history list.
Managing Your Copied History
Managing your copied history in Windows 11 lets you view and paste recent text and images stored in your cloud storage across all your linked machines. Opening the clipboard panel gives you instant access to everything you have copied so you can click any item to paste it immediately.
View a list of recent items, including text and images, that are stored in your cloud storage and available for pasting. Click any item in the list to paste it into your active cursor location.
Troubleshooting Connection and Sync Issues
You need to verify that your PCs are logged into the exact same Microsoft account and that your network connection is active and not restricted by Battery Saver mode.
Check your network connection next and verify that Windows is not running in Battery Saver mode (a feature that turns off non-essential background tasks to save power), which occasionally restricts background cloud syncing services to preserve power.
What to do next
Configure your general Microsoft account profile settings next if you want to manage how other data and preferences roam across your hardware.
