How to Add Music Folders in Windows Media Player
You add music folders in Windows Media Player on Windows 11 by configuring its library settings.
Open Windows Media Player, click “Open file(s)” on the Home screen, then select “Open folder.” Navigate to your music folder, select it, and click “Add this folder to Music.” Your music will then appear in the player’s library.
Windows Media Player is a built-in application for managing and playing your music, videos, and images, offering standard playback controls and library organization.
By default, Windows Media Player finds music in your user’s Music folder, but if your collection resides elsewhere, like a D: drive or a custom folder, you need to manually point the player to these locations.
Adding specific folders ensures all your songs are automatically scanned and appear within your Windows Media Player library, saving you the hassle of searching for individual files each time you want to listen.
