How to Auto-Launch Telegram on Windows 11
Control whether Telegram starts automatically when you sign in to Windows 11 to save time and catch messages right away.
Open Telegram, go to Settings, then Advanced, and toggle “Launch Telegram when system starts” off. You can also disable it in Windows Task Manager under the Startup apps tab.
Why enable auto-launch?
Using Telegram every day makes automatic startup worthwhile. Opening the app manually becomes unnecessary, and catching every new message happens instantly.
What happens when done?
When you auto-launch Telegram Windows 11, the app starts up automatically in the background right after you sign in to your computer. You can change this behavior so Telegram stays closed until you click its icon, which helps your PC boot up faster and keeps your system tray clean.
Adjust these preferences inside the Telegram app settings. Changing them requires no administrator privileges.
- Open Telegram by clicking the Start menu and finding it in your app list.
Open the app using the Taskbar or the Taskbar overflow.
- Click the Menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
- Select Settings (the gear icon).
- Click on Advanced to show more options.
- Under the System integration section, click the box next to Launch Telegram when system starts to turn it on. To turn it off, click the box again to uncheck it.
- If you want the app to start without showing the window, check the box for Launch minimized.
Selecting Launch minimized starts the app silently in the Taskbar app overflow pane.
