How to Disable Personalization and Memory in Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot uses your past conversations and Microsoft usage data to remember your preferences and current tasks.
Microsoft Copilot's personalization uses stored data to offer better suggestions, such as remembering a user is writing a report about space. This feature improves Copilot's helpfulness by tailoring its responses to individual user needs and ongoing projects.
If you prefer Copilot to start fresh without recalling previous chats, disabling personalization and memory ensures each interaction is independent.
This means Copilot won’t refer to your past discussions when generating new responses, offering a private and clean slate each time.
Go to your profile settings by clicking your profile picture. Select “Memory” and then “Personalization and memory” to turn off Copilot’s chat history usage. To prevent usage of data from other Microsoft services, turn off “Microsoft usage data” in the same settings.
