How to Disable Pinning on Windows 11 Taskbar
The Taskbar at the bottom of your Windows 11 screen is home to your most used apps. It includes the Start menu, Search, Task View, Widgets, Teams Chat, File Explorer, Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Store buttons.
By default, Windows lets you pin apps to this bar for quick access or unpin them if you do not want them there. You can remove an icon by right-clicking it and selecting Unpin from the Taskbar.
Why disable taskbar pinning?
You might want to lock the Taskbar to keep it looking the same for everyone using the computer. This prevents users from adding or removing icons, keeping your layout consistent.
What happens when you are done?
Once you apply these changes, the options to pin or unpin programs will disappear from the right-click menu. The icons on your Taskbar will stay exactly where they are.
