This article explains how to hide or show the Task View button on the taskbar in Windows 11.

We recently published a post explaining Task View and how to utilize it in Windows 11. You can read that post here.

In that post, we explained how Task View can help you organize your work, reduce clutter, and make your desktop easier to navigate. Virtual desktops or workspaces can be helpful for those who keep many applications open at the same time and want to separate them by task.

By default, the Task View button is displayed on the Taskbar. If you’re aware of Task View but aren’t convinced it’s useful and prefer to hide the button from the Taskbar, this post will guide you on how to do that.

How to hide Task View from the Taskbar in Windows 11

Windows 11 features a centralized location for most settings. You can manage system configurations, create new users, and update Windows all from the System Settings pane.

To access System Settings, use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start and then Settings, as shown in the image below:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the Taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.

In Windows Settings, click on Personalization and select Taskbar from the options on the right pane of your screen, as shown in the image below.

In the Taskbar settings pane, select the Task view tile and toggle the button on or off to enable or disable the Task view icon on the Taskbar.

Changes here are applied immediately. You can now exit the settings pane.

That should do it!

Conclusion:

  • Hiding or showing the Task View button on the Taskbar in Windows 11 is a simple process.
  • You can easily access the necessary settings through the Start menu or using the Windows key + I shortcut.
  • The Task View feature allows you to organize your workspace and manage multiple applications effectively.
  • Customizing your Taskbar can help streamline your workflow based on your preferences.
  • Whether you prefer a clutter-free Taskbar or more accessible task management, Windows 11 provides flexibility to suit your needs.
