How to Enable Phone Link App Automatic Startup in Windows 11
This guide explains how to manage the Phone Link app so it only opens when you want it to. Windows lets you use the Phone Link app to connect your mobile device. The Phone Link app helps you use your Wi-Fi connection to see apps, messages, and photos from your phone right on your computer screen.
Why do this? By default, Phone Link starts running as soon as you log in. If you do not use the app often, stopping it from starting automatically can help your computer boot up faster and use fewer system resources.
What happens when done? If you disable the startup setting, the app will no longer run in the background when you turn on your PC. You will need to open it manually if you want to sync your phone data.
Method 1: Using Phone Link Settings
1. Open the Start menu and select Phone Link.
2. Click the Settings (gear icon) at the top right.

3. Under the General tab, look for App startup.
4. Toggle the switch for Start Phone Link when I sign in to Windows to On or Off.

Method 2: Using the Windows Settings App
1. Open the Start menu and select Settings.
2. Go to Apps on the left side, then click Startup.
3. Find Phone Link in the list.
4. Click the toggle switch to On or Off.

Method 3: Using Task Manager
Note: This method may require admin privileges depending on your account settings.
1. Open the Task Manager app by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
2. Click the Startup apps tab on the left menu.
3. Find Phone Link in the list.
4. Right-click it and select Disable, or click the Disable button at the top of the window.

Summary
You can control whether the Phone Link app starts automatically by using the app’s internal settings, the main Windows Settings menu, or the Task Manager. Choosing to disable it keeps your startup process clean, while keeping it enabled ensures your phone stays synced with your PC at all times.
