Enable or Disable Mobile Device Name in Windows Share
You enable or disable the visibility of your mobile device name in the Windows Share menu to control how easily you select your phone for file transfers.
The Windows Share menu appears when you right-click a file and select “Share,” and it lists available devices and apps for sharing. By managing your mobile device’s name display, you can simplify this menu, showing only the destinations you actively use.
For instance, if you regularly share photos from your Windows 11 PC to your Android phone using Phone Link, seeing your phone’s name clearly in the Share menu helps you select it quickly. However, if you rarely share to your phone or prefer a tidier interface, hiding the name is a useful option.
This setting specifically affects how your linked mobile devices appear within the native Windows Share functionality.
