1Password is a cross-platform password manager that simplifies securely sharing logins, credit cards, and other sensitive information across all your devices.

The application now offers a stable Linux experience after entering beta last year. This guide walks you through the straightforward installation process on your Ubuntu desktop.

Once installed, 1Password integrates with your system, offering features like GNOME Keyring support and automatic dark mode selection, allowing you to log in and fill forms with a single click.

Next, add the 1Password repository key to Ubuntu

💻Code
curl -sS https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc | sudo gpg --dearmor --output /usr/share/keyrings/1password-archive-keyring.gpg

Then create a repository file.

Command Prompt
echo 'deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/1password-archive-keyring.gpg] https://downloads.1password.com/linux/debian/amd64 stable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/1password.list
