Windows 11 lets you choose whether to show your email address on the sign-in screen. By default, you usually only see your name. This guide shows you how to change that setting.

Why show your email on the sign-in screen?

If you have more than one person using the same computer, showing the email address makes it easier to pick the right account. It is also helpful if you forget exactly which account name you used to set up your computer.

What happens when you are done?

Once you enable this feature, your email address will appear right under your name every time you turn on or wake up your computer. This helps you identify your profile at a glance.

How to show your email on the sign-in screen

You can change this setting in the main Windows Settings menu.

1. Open the Settings app. You can do this by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard, or by clicking Start and selecting Settings.

Note: Changes made here require administrative privileges. If you are using a standard account, you may be prompted to enter an administrator password to save these changes.

Summary

Displaying your email address on the Windows 11 sign-in screen is a simple way to manage multiple accounts. It helps you quickly identify your profile and prevents confusion. You can turn this setting on or off at any time using the Sign-in options menu within your system settings.
