By now, you probably know a thing or two about Bluetooth. If not, here’s a brief overview: Bluetooth is a wireless technology that connects your computers, smartphones, and mobile devices to nearby Bluetooth-enabled devices.

With Bluetooth connections, you can stream music, connect to devices like speakers, headphones, keyboards, and mice, send data, and easily communicate with nearby devices.

Windows will turn on Bluetooth automatically once detected. If Bluetooth is not automatically turned on or enabled in Windows 11, it may have been turned off or disabled using a physical button or from the settings pane.

Whatever the case, you’ll need Bluetooth enabled in Windows 11 to connect or allow connections from other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

If Bluetooth isn’t enabled in Windows 11, read the post below to learn how to turn it on.

Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from the System Settings pane.

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.

Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click Bluetooth, then make sure Bluetooth is turned on and select Add device on the right pane of your screen shown in the image below.

Once you click the Add device, you’ll see a pop-up screen asking you to choose the kind of device you want to add.

Select Bluetooth, as highlighted below.

Ensure the device you want to connect has Bluetooth enabled and is ready. On the list, select the device to pair.

Once you select the device, you’ll see messages to allow or authenticate the connecting Windows 11 device. On the Windows device, you’ll see a message to connect. After that, both Windows 11 and the device you wish to pair should be paired and connected.

Do this for other Bluetooth devices you want to pair with Windows 11.
