The “Remember my apps” feature in Windows 11 helps you move your software from one computer to another. When you sign in with your Microsoft account, Windows remembers the apps you downloaded from the Microsoft Store. It then helps you install them again when you set up a new device.

Why use this feature?

Setting up a new computer can be time-consuming. Instead of searching for all your favorite apps again, this feature does the heavy lifting for you. It keeps your digital workspace consistent across all your Windows devices.

What happens when you are done?

Once enabled, your app list is saved to your Microsoft account. When you sign into a new Windows 11 PC, the system will recognize your preferences and offer to restore your apps, saving you significant setup time.

How to Enable “Remember My Apps”

You can manage this through the main Settings menu. Note that this feature is only for personal Microsoft accounts, not work or school accounts.

1. Open your Settings. You can press the Windows key + I on your keyboard or click on Start System Settings and select Settings.

Summary

The “Remember my apps” feature is a convenient tool that syncs your Microsoft Store apps across your Windows devices. You can easily turn it on or off in your Account settings. If you decide to stop using the service, you can clear your stored data through your Microsoft account portal to keep your cloud storage clean.
