How to Enable or Disable Dynamic Lighting in Windows 11

How to Turn On or Off Dynamic Lighting

Follow these simple steps to enable or disable Dynamic Lighting on your Windows 11 PC:

Turn Dynamic Lighting On or Off Using the Registry Editor (Advanced)

Step 1: Open the Registry Editor

Step 2: Navigate to the Right Location

  1. Look for this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Lighting
  2. If you don’t see the Lighting folder, follow these steps:

  4. Choose New > Key.
  5. Name it Lighting.

  1. Inside the Lighting folder, right-click on the right side.
  2. Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  3. Name this new value AmbientLightingEnabled

Step 4: Set the Value

  1. Double-click AmbientLightingEnabled
  2. Set the Base to Decimal.
  3. Set the value data to one of these:
  4. 1 to turn Dynamic Lighting ON
  5. 0 to turn Dynamic Lighting OFF
