This post describes how to enable or disable the camera in Windows 11.

When your Windows device has a camera, you can make Teams video calls, record videos, and take pictures.

Depending on the camera’s capabilities and version of Windows 11, some or all the following controls may be available to you, including rotation, background effects, auto framing, and more.

By default, Windows will identify and install all related drivers that make the camera work. If additional drivers are needed, you will be prompted to install them.

If you have administrator access, you can disable and enable cameras for everyone using your device.

Below is how to enable or disable the camera in Windows 11.

How to enable or disable the camera in Windows 11

As described above, if you have administrator access, you can disable and enable cameras for everyone using your device.

Below is how to do that.

Select Start and type manage cameras into the search bar in the Start menu and then select Manage cameras from the results.

Alternatively, click Start -> Settings -> Bluetooth & devices.

Select the Cameras tile on the Bluetooth & devices settings pane as highlighted below.

Under Connected cameras, select the camera you want.

Select Disable. On some devices, disabling a camera will disable multiple cameras on your PC.

If this is going to happen, Windows shows a warning after you select Disable.
Some cameras might require you to reboot your device to disable the camera.

To enable, reverse the steps above. For example, under Disabled cameras, select the camera you want to enable, then select Enable.

That should do it!
