How to Change Touchpad Right-Click Region in Windows 11

This tutorial shows you how to change the right-click region size on your touchpad. If you have a Microsoft Surface device with Windows 11, you can now customize this feature.

Why Change Your Right-Click Region Size?

The right-click zone is the area in the bottom-right corner of your touchpad. When you press one finger there, it acts like a right-click on your mouse. Some people prefer a larger zone. Others like it smaller so they have more room to move around. Now you can choose what works best for you.

What Happens When You Change This Setting?

Once you adjust the right-click region size, your touchpad will respond differently in that corner area. A larger zone makes it easier to right-click. A smaller zone gives you more space for other touchpad movements.

Note: This setting only works on touchpads with a pressable surface. Windows 11 build 26220.8138 (Beta 25H2) and build 26300.8142 (Dev 25H2) or newer have this feature. If you already customized this setting using a manufacturer’s app, a “Custom” option will appear in the dropdown.
