How to Export Search History in Outlook on Windows 11
The new Outlook for Windows brings a clean, modern look to your email. It supports accounts like Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Hotmail, and Gmail.
This app is packed with features, including support for subscription management, email forwarding, setting default From address, backing up your mailbox, changing the reading pane, opening a new window for a message, language translations, turning text predictions on or off, switch primary account, sharing a calendar, changing language, date and time format, public a calendar, show week numbers in Outlook calendar, and deleting your search history.
Why export your search history?
Outlook remembers what you search for to give you better results later. You can delete or download this history whenever you want. Exporting your search history saves it as a CSV file, which you can open in Excel. This is helpful if you want to keep a record of your past searches before deleting them, or if you want to see your search trends over time.
What happens when you are done?
Once you finish these steps, a file named ‘search_history’ will be saved in your computer’s Downloads folder. You will then have a permanent record of your search activity that you can view or share outside of the Outlook app.
How to export your search history
Follow these steps to save your search data:
- First, open the new Outlook app on Windows 11. You can find it by clicking Start, selecting All apps, and choosing Outlook.

-
Note: This process does not require admin privileges.
Summary
Exporting your search history from Outlook is an easy way to back up your data and analyze your search habits. By following the steps above, you can quickly generate a CSV file containing your search records, allowing you to manage your data outside of the email application.
