This guide explains how to change the thickness of your text cursor in Windows 11. The text cursor is the blinking line that appears when you type. Sometimes, this line is too thin to see on modern, high-resolution screens.

Why adjust the cursor? Because a thin line can easily get lost in a sea of text. Making it thicker or adding an indicator makes it much easier to find your place while typing.

What happens when done? Your cursor will be easier to spot, helping you work faster and with less eye strain.

Change cursor thickness via Settings

The easiest way to change this is through the Windows Settings app.

  1. Open the Windows Settings app by clicking the Start button or pressing Windows Key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
  2. Click on Accessibility in the left menu.

Once updated, your typing experience will be much more comfortable.
