This post describes steps to increase or decrease the font or text size in Windows 11.

Most people will default to be OK with the font size in Windows 11. But for some small groups, it might be too small or too big on devices with smaller screens and not helpful, especially for people with poor vision.

With wide screens and higher resolutions, it can be challenging to see clearly across bigger areas of the screen or even double screens when your device’s fonts are tiny.

Also, if your device has a small screen and the fonts are too big, you can adjust or reduce the size to fit on the screen.

If you have difficulty reading on your screen in Windows, you can easily change the font size so you can enjoy reading. Sometimes, the font becomes too small to see clearly; increasing it will allow you to read without straining your eyes.

The steps below will show you how to increase or decrease the font size in Windows 11.

How to increase or decrease font size in Windows 11

As described above, if the font size is small and you have difficulties reading, you can increase the size so you can enjoy reading.

Below is how to do that.

Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings. Everything can be done, from system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows from its System Settings pane.

To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings, as shown in the image below:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.

Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In the Windows Settings app, click Accessibility on the left.

On the right, select the Text size tile to expand.

On the System -> Accessibility -> Text size settings pane, locate the slider labeled Text size.

Click and drag the circle on the right and left slider to adjust the system font size.

As you drag the slider, you should see a new size represented in percent relative to the original size of 100%.

A Text size preview pane should also display how the new font should appear on your screen. Then, if you like the size, click the Apply button to save.

That should do it!
