How to Upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Pro

If your computer came with Windows 11 Home, you might want more advanced features. How to Upgrade

You can upgrade through the Windows Settings app. You will need to either buy a key or enter one you already have.

1. Open the Settings app by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard, or by clicking Start then Settings.

3. To use a key you already bought, select Change product key. Enter your 25-character key and click Next.

4. If you need to buy a license, look for the Upgrade your edition of Windows section and click Open Store. Note: This step requires admin privileges. Make sure you are signed in with your Microsoft account to complete the purchase.

5. After entering your key or finishing the purchase, follow the prompts to install the new version. Your PC will restart to finish the process.

If you prefer using the command line to check your current license status, you can run this command in an elevated Command Prompt window: slmgr /dli. Note: This step requires admin privileges.
