This article explains how to change or manage the startup page in the Microsoft Edge browser.

The Microsoft Edge browser is the default browser in Windows 11. However, users can switch to their preferred or favorite browser anytime. Edge is based on Chromium, similar to Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers today.

Your Edge browser has multiple settings one can configure. One of these is the startup page or Edge start settings. With Edge start settings, you can open specific tabs automatically, continue browsing where you left off, or set a home page.

You can choose between three options:

  • Open the new tab page: Open a new tab each time you launch the browser.
  • Continue where you left off: Restore your previous browsing session.
  • Open these pages: Add a home page or series of pages upon startup.

Setting up a browser startup page can be helpful in many ways. It can save you time by automatically opening the pages you frequently visit. For example, if you check your email every morning, you can set your email provider’s login page as your startup page. This will open your email login page automatically when you launch the browser, saving you the time and hassle of navigating to the page manually.

Additionally, a startup page can help you stay organized by opening multiple pages simultaneously. For example, if you have a set of pages that you always open together, you can set them as your startup pages.

This way, all the pages you need will be opened automatically, and you won’t have to open them individually.

Manage Edge start settings

As mentioned above, you can always configure your Edge browser to open specific tabs automatically, continue browsing where you left off, or set a home page.

Here’s how to do that.

First, open the Microsoft Edge browser.

Then click on Setting and more (Alt+F) three dots () in the upper right-hand corner to access the Settings menu.

On the Settings page on the left panel, click the Start, home, and new tabs button.

On the right, under When Edge starts, select one of the options available:

  • Open the new tab page – Opens a new tab each time you launch the browser.
  • Open tabs from the previous session – Restores your previous browsing session.
  • Open these pages: – Add a home page or series of pages upon startup.
    • geekrewind.com
    • google.com

If you want to open multiple pages simultaneously every time Edge starts up, you can choose the “Open these pages” option.

Then click the Add new page button to specify the pages to open.

For example, using the option above, you can simultaneously open your Gmail mailbox, favorite website, Facebook, and many other pages.

That should do it!
