How to Manage Startup Page in Microsoft Edge
You manage the Microsoft Edge startup page by configuring its settings to load specific websites automatically when you open the browser.
Microsoft Edge, the default browser for Windows, lets you customize what appears when you first launch it. This means you can set it to open your favorite news site, work portal, or any other web page you frequent.
By changing your startup page, you save valuable time each day. Imagine opening Edge and having your essential sites load instantly, ready for you to dive in.
This tutorial shows you how to set up Edge to open one or more specific pages from version 120 onwards, streamlining your browsing experience from the get-go.
Manage Edge start settings
You can configure Edge to open a new tab, restore your last session, or open specific pages. To find these options quickly, use the search bar at the top of the Settings menu.
- Open the Microsoft Edge browser.
- Click the Settings and more (three dots) icon in the top right corner.
- Select Settings.
- In the Search settings bar at the top, type “Start” to quickly find the right section.
- Click on Start, home, and new tabs in the left menu.

On the right side, under When Edge starts, select one of these options:
- Open the new tab page: Shows a clean new tab every time.
- Open tabs from the previous session: Restores the websites you had open when you last closed the browser.
- Open these pages: Allows you to add specific websites that will always launch at startup.

If you choose Open these pages, click Add a new page to enter the URLs of the sites you want to see first.

System and Performance Features
There are two other settings that affect how your startup page behaves:
- Startup boost: Found under System and performance, this keeps a small version of Edge running in the background. It helps the browser open much faster. If this is on, your “Open these pages” selection will load almost instantly.
- Sleeping tabs: When you choose to “Open tabs from the previous session,” Edge uses Sleeping tabs to save memory. It puts inactive tabs to sleep so your computer stays fast, even if you had many pages open before closing the browser.

That should do it!
Reference:
Configuring your Edge startup page optimizes your browsing experience by saving time and keeping you organized. By using the search bar in Settings and balancing features like Startup boost, you can make your browser work exactly the way you want.
