How to Manage Your Addresses in Microsoft Edge Wallet

The article provides step-by-step instructions on how to add or remove addresses from the Microsoft Edge Wallet. The Wallet feature in Microsoft Edge allows for secure management of credit cards and associated addresses, along with autofill capabilities. Users can also control the autofill address feature through the Windows Registry editor settings.

This article explains how to add or remove (delete) addresses from Wallet in Microsoft Edge.

The Microsoft Edge browser is the default browser in Windows 11. However, users can switch to their preferred or favorite browser anytime. Edge is based on Chromium, similar to Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers today.

Your Microsoft Edge browser has a ‘Wallet‘ feature that provides a convenient way to securely manage your physical credit cards and addresses associated with them online so you can automatically autofill forms when completing a purchase or adding personal details online.

Your Wallet doesn’t only store private and confidential data like addresses, passwords, and card information; details in the Wallet can also be used to discover related offers and auto-apply discount coupons at the checkout automatically.

By default, Microsoft Edge will prompt you and offer to store your details in the wallet. If you have old addresses and want to remove them, the steps below show you how.

Add or delete saved address in Microsoft Edge Wallet

As mentioned above, Microsoft Edge will offer to store your private details like address, card information, and others in its secured Wallet.

Below is how to delete an old address from your Wallet in the Microsoft Edge browser.

First, open the Microsoft Edge browser.

Then click on Setting and more (Alt+F) 3 horizontal dots button on the top right corner and select Settings.

On the Settings page on the left panel, click the Profiles button.

Select the “Password” tile on the right to proceed.

On the next screen, click the ‘Go to Wallet‘ link on the “Try the new management experience in Wallet” tile.

You can also open the Wallet settings page directly by entering the URL below in the address bar.

edge://wallet

On the Wallet setting page, select the Password & Personal info link on the left. Then click the Personal info tab at the top.

Select the box next to the address you want to delete, then click the Delete button when displayed.

Alternatively, click the ‘Ellipsis‘ (three buttons) and select the Delete‘ button.

Click the ‘Add address‘ button in the top right corner to add an address manually.

Exit the browser setting when you are done.

Turn On or Off Autofill address in Microsoft Edge via the Registry Editor

If you do not want Microsoft Edge to store your address automatically or prompt you to do so, you can turn it on or off using the Windows Registry editor.

To do that, open the Windows Registry editor, and navigate to the folder key below.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

If you don’t see the Edge folder key, right-click on the Microsoft parent key, then create the subkey (Edge) folder.

Right-click the Edge folder key’s right pane and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Type a new item named AutofillAddressEnabled.

Double-click the new item you created (AutofillAddressEnabled) and update the Value data:

  • To disable the autofill address in Microsoft Edge, type 0.
  • To enable the autofill address, delete the AutofillAddressEnabled item created above.

That should do it. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

That should do it!

Conclusion:

  • Adding or removing addresses from the Microsoft Edge Wallet is essential for securely managing personal information.
  • The step-by-step guide ensures a complete understanding of the process, making it easy for users to perform the necessary actions.
  • Additional options to enable or disable autofill addresses using the Windows Registry editor offer a comprehensive approach to address management in Microsoft Edge.
