The article provides a guide on managing ‘Collect app usage data’ in the Amazon Appstore on Windows 11. The feature, which comes installed with the Windows Subsystem for Android, collects app usage data to improve Appstore experience. It can be turned on or off in the settings of the Amazon Appstore.

This article explains how to enable or disable “Collect app usage data” in the Amazon Appstore on Windows 11.

The Amazone Appstore is installed on your Windows device when you enable Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA).

WSA creates a virtual machine that provides the environment to install and run Android applications as natively installed on Windows.

You can install and play Android apps and games on your Windows machine using the virtualized environment through the Amazone Appstore.

The Amazon Appstore collects usage data of downloaded apps to improve the Appstore experience and the quality of apps Amazon makes available. You can allow the Appstore to collect usage data on the frequency and duration of downloaded apps or disallow it.

If you don’t want the Appstore to collect app usage data from your Windows device, go ahead and turn it off.

As described above, when you install and enable WSA, it also installs the Amazon Appstore.

Through the Appstore, you can install and play Android apps and games. Howerver, by default, the Appstore collects app data usage.

Here’s how to turn it on or off.

One WSA is installed, and the Amazon Appstore is available, click on the Start menu and select the All apps button.

On the app list, find and select the Amazon Appstore to open it. Once opened, click on the Settings link on the left.

On the right panel, toggle the button for “Collect app usage data” to the Off position to disable it.

To enable it, toggle the button back to the On position.

That should do it!
