How to switch the taskbar color on Windows 11

As mentioned above, users can quickly change the taskbar color on Windows 11 with a few clicks in the Settings app.

Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings app. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from the System Settings pane.

To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings, as shown in the image below:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.

Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click Personalization, and select Colors on the right pane of your screen shown in the image below.

Select the Accent color tile on the Colors settings pane and switch to Manual.

  • Automatic: Windows will automatically pick an accent color from your current wallpaper. 
  • Manual: Windows allows you to select an accent color manually

Next, select the Custom Colors option and click View colors as highlighted below. Then select the accent color to suit your design taste. When you’re done, save and exit.

Finally, scroll down to the bottom and toggle the switch to On for “Show accent color on Start and taskbar.”

And that should do it! You will now see the new changes applied immediately to the Taskbar and Start menu.
