Adding AdSense Codes to WordPress
Now that you’ve created a WordPress website got some web traffic, and been approved to join the Google AdSense program, you can start adding AdSense codes to your website.
AdSense offers several different types of ad units. If a standard ad unit doesn’t meet the requirements of your site, consider using one of our more specialized ad units. These are the basic types of Ad units available to you:
- Text & display – Standard ad unit supports all our regular ad sizes.
- Native — ads that match the look and feel of your site, providing a great user experience for your visitors.
- Link unit — displays a list of topics relevant to your page’s content.
Now that you know the types of ad units, log on to create new ad units for your site. To do that,
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Click My Ads.
- Click Ad units.
- Click +New ad unit.
- Select the types of ads unit you wish to create. the most common is the Text & display ads
- In the “Ad size” section, choose the size of the ads that you’d like to show
- Select which type of ads you’d like to show on your pages from the Ad type drop-down. It is recommended that you display both text and display ads.
- (Optional) Apply an ad style for your text ads.
- Click Save and get the code

Grab the code. The code should look similar to the code below:
<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script> <!-- wfstudents-responsive-header --> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block" data-ad-client="ca-pub-936838503954584988136785875" data-ad-slot="1934533411607" data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins> <script> (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); </script>
Copy the entire code, then log on to your WordPress.
