If you have trouble seeing your screen clearly or find bright colors uncomfortable, Windows 11 has a built-in feature to help. High contrast themes change the colors on your screen to make text, buttons, and images stand out more. This makes it easier to read and navigate your computer.

Why use high contrast themes?

These themes are designed for people with low vision or light sensitivity. By making the background darker and the text brighter, or vice versa, the computer becomes much easier on the eyes. It helps you quickly spot important items on your desktop.

What happens when you are done?

Once you apply a theme, your screen colors will change immediately. You will notice that menus, windows, and text look very different and much easier to read. You can switch back to the normal view at any time using a simple keyboard shortcut.

You can turn this on right from your login screen. Just look for the accessibility icon and toggle the High Contrast switch.
