This article explains how to re-sync your browser data in the Microsoft Edge browser.
The Microsoft Edge browser is the default browser in Windows 11. However, users can switch to their preferred or favorite browser anytime. Edge is based on Chromium, similar to Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers today.
Microsoft Edge allows users to sign in with their personal or school/work accounts and sync their browsing data across all their devices. The data you synced is encrypted in transit over HTTPS when transferred between the browser and Microsoft servers.
When you are signed in, Microsoft Edge will synchronize your favorites, passwords, browsing history, extensions, settings, open tabs, autofill form entries (such as your name, address, and phone number), payment information, and other types of data across all the devices you use with this account.
In some cases, you may have an issue syncing a particular device. If there’s a problem syncing your browser data, re-syncing may help resolve the issues.
This is recommended if you miss-sync data on some of your devices.
Re-sync Microsoft Edge data
As described above, the Microsoft Edge browser allows users to sync their browsing data across all devices.
If you encounter issues with syncing a device, manually re-syncing may help resolve them. Performing a re-sync will delete the sync cache on this device and combine your local browsing data with the sync data stored on Microsoft servers.
Here’s how to do that.
First, open the Microsoft Edge browser.
Then click on Setting and more (Alt+F) 3 horizontal dots button on the top right corner and select Settings.

On the Settings page on the left panel, click the Profiles
button.

On the right, under Manage account, select the Sync
tile to expand it.

Scroll down at the bottom on the Settings -> Profiles -> Sync setting page. Then click the Re-sync button under “Re-sync data to this device.“

When you do that, Microsoft Edge will prompt you to confirm that you wish to re-sync your data stored on the Microsoft servers to the local device.
Confirm by clicking the ‘Resync
” button.

Your local browsing data will merge with your sync data stored on the Microsoft servers. This process shouldn’t take long.
Close the Edge browser when done.
That should do it!
