This post shows students and new users how to add or change their account profile picture or photo when using Windows 11.
Windows allows you to add pictures to your profile to distinguish your account and identify you on the login screen from other Windows profiles.
By default, if you don’t add an image to your account profile, a black image space will be added and left blank. All users will have the same image except for unique account names.
If you sign into Windows 11 with a Microsoft account, your account picture will be synced across all devices you signed in with using a Microsoft account. People who have you as a contact will also see your image associated with your name in Windows as a contact.
