Enable Auto Brightness in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a popular tool for chat and video meetings. Sometimes, your camera video might look dark or grainy if you are in a room with poor lighting. Teams has a built-in feature to fix this automatically.

Why do this? Enabling auto brightness ensures you look clear and professional during video calls, even if your environment is dim.

What happens when done? Your camera will automatically detect low light and brighten your image, making your video feed much easier for others to see.

You can connect your Google calendar, turn the camera and mic on or off on the lock screen, turn read receipts on or off, auto start Teams, disable Teams chat, sync contacts with Teams, connect to Google Calendar, link your mobile device, turning message preview on or off, manage teams notifications during calls, set default speakers, set default microphone, enable high fidelity sound, change mic sensitivity, set default camera, and more.

How to Enable Auto Brightness

1. Open the Microsoft Teams app from your Start menu.

7. Click the Settings and more (…) button located near your profile picture. Select Settings from the menu.

10. Click the Devices tab on the left side of the screen.
11. Look for the Video Settings section. If you have more than one camera, choose the one you want to use from the cameras on the drop-down menu menu.
12. Find the Adjust brightness option under ‘Camera’ and turn the toggle to the On position. If you want to turn it off later, simply toggle it to Off.
