This brief tutorial shows students and new users how to install the Rambox productivity app on Ubuntu 18.04 | 16.04 Desktop.

For the uninitiated, Rambox is a cross-platform workspace browser (app) that allows you to add and manage as many apps as you’d like from a single desktop interface. Rambox lets you connect and stay organized with your email, calendar, contacts, chat, and other productivity tools from a single application.

This tool is perfect for those who use and maintain separate desktop apps and want to organize them using a single interface. With Rambox, you can have all your frequently used applications in one place with minimum maintenance effort.

Rambox comes in two versions: Paid and Community Edition (CE).

The community edition allows 99+ apps, master password lock, sync support, and more.

When you’re ready to install Rambox for Linux, follow the steps below

Install Rambox via Snap

Rambox can also be installed via Ubuntu snap package management… This might be the quickest way to install Rambox. Snaps are applications packaged with dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully.

To install via Snap, run the commands below

sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
sudo snap install rambox

When you’re done, Rambox should be installed and ready to use… To launch it, go to the Activities Overview, search Rambox, and launch it.

Open Rambox and start connecting your apps.

If you don’t already have an account, you must create or use existing accounts like Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. Once you’re done creating or logging into your account, you can begin to organize your desktop.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed Rambox for Linux on Ubuntu 16.04 | 18.04.
