How to Install SimpleNote App on Ubuntu Linux

When you’re ready to install Simplenote on Ubuntu, follow the steps below:  There are multiple ways to install Simplenote.

Install Simplenote DEB Package

To install Simplenote using its DEB package, go to this link below and select the.DEB version… 64-bit should be good if your system supports it. Then download it to your desktop (usually to the Downloads folder of your Home directory).

Download and save the file to your desktop… usually in your Home directory’s ~/Downloads folder.

After downloading, navigate to your Downloads folder, right-click the downloaded file, and select Open With Software Install.

When Ubuntu Software opens, click Install to begin the installation.

That should prompt you to type and confirm your password before the installation can continue… When you’re done, Simplenote should be installed and ready to use… To launch it, go to the Activities Overview, search Simplenote, and launch it.

Install Simplenote Code via Snap

Suppose the option above didn’t work for you. You can also install Simplenote via Snap package management.   This might be the quickest way to install Simplenote… Snaps are applications packaged with dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. In addition, they update automatically and roll back gracefully…

sudo apt install snapd
sudo snap install simplenote

    Thanks! Successfully installed on PopOS 20.04 using by using the Simplenote link to download “Simplenote-linux-2.0.0-amd64.deb”. Right clicked on the download & selected “Open with Eddy”. I wasn’t sure if amd64 would be okay for me since my cpu is an intel i9 but it seems to works fine.
