This guide shows you how to turn the right-click feature on or off for the lower right corner of your touchpad in Windows 11.

Why do this?

If you prefer a physical click to open menus instead of tapping with two fingers, this setting makes your touchpad act more like a traditional mouse button.

What happens when done?

Once you change this setting, pressing the bottom right corner of your touchpad will immediately trigger a right-click action.

If your laptop has a precision touchpad, you can customize how it feels and reacts. You can also turn these features off if you use an external mouse and want to avoid accidental clicks.

Other things you can do include managing gestures, turning off clicks, or changing how single taps work to help with multi-select item or disable your device touchpad tasks.

How to change your touchpad settings

You can manage these settings through the main Windows Settings menu. You do not need special permissions to change these settings for your user account.

  1. Open the Settings app. You can do this by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard, or by clicking Start and then Settings.

Summary

Customizing your touchpad makes your computer easier to use. Windows 11 keeps these options in one place, allowing you to quickly switch between different click styles to match your personal workflow.
