Windows will allow you to change where offline maps are automatically stored. This will allow you to save download maps on removable drivers and partitions that can be easily carried around.

Below is how to choose where offline maps are saved in Windows 11.

How to change where offline maps are automatically saved in Windows 11

As described above, Windows will allow you to change where offline maps are automatically saved. This will allow you to store download maps on removable drivers and partitions that can be easily carried around.

Below is how to do that in Windows 11.

Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings. As a result, everything can be done, from system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows from its System Settings pane.

To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings, as shown in the image below:

Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.

Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In the Windows Settings app, click Apps on the left.

On the right, click on the Offline maps tile to expand.

Click the Storage location tile on the Settings -> Apps -> Offline maps settings pane.

Then select the storage drive you want to save offline maps by default, as highlighted below.

Once you select a new location, Windows will automatically begin moving all your downloaded offline maps to the new location.

All new offline maps you download will be stored at the new location by default.

That should do it!
