This article describes steps one can take to change the Startup App Notification priority in Windows 11.
A few days ago, we showed you how to enable or disable Startup App Notification in Windows 11. In that post, we described that Windows is now able to notify users whenever a new app registers itself to run at startup.
This feature is turned off or disabled by default.
Not only can you enable or disable Startup App Notification, but you can also choose how to display these notifications.
There are three priority types: Normal, High, and Top.
Normal priority notifications will show below High priority. High priority will show above Normal. Top priority notifications will be shown at the top of the Notification Center.
Below is how to do that.
How to change startup app notification priority in Windows 11
As described above, Windows allows you to choose how Startup App Notification is displayed on the screen.
Below is how to choose that.
Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from its System Settings pane.
To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings as shown in the image below:
Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.
Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In the Windows Settings app, click System on the left.
On the right, select the Notifications tile to expand.
On the System -> Notifications settings pane, under Notifications from apps and other senders, click on the Startup App Notification tile to expand.
On the System -> Notification -> Startup App Notification settings pane, turn on Notification at the top of the pane.
Then choose the priority type to display on your screen as highlighted below.
- Top – Show at the top of the notification center.
- High – Show above-normal priority notifications in the notification center.
- Normal – Show below high-priority notifications in the notification center.
Make your selection and close the Settings app.
That should do it!
